Huckleberry Hound

Day 138 – 9/12/11 – 29 miles (2384)

Today took us through logging country, passing through some clear cuts and a maze of dirt logging roads. All the sunny exposed land means miles of endless huckleberries! It was hard to keep walking by so many delicious berries, but we had miles to make.

I woke up with a stiff back and it didn’t get better over the course of the day. A steady drip of ibuprofen got me through the day. Hopefully tomorrow’s shorter day into Snoqualmie Pass will help.

  1. hey drop-n-roll! thanks for the postcard! found your blog- looks like you guys are having fantastic weather in washington! it was mostly cold, rainy and miserable when i rolled thru there in 06. it’d be great if you guys make it to the border with no rain and no fires. anyway, enjoy and savor this last stretch- the north cascades were probably my very favorite part of the whole pct, scenically and emotionally. don’t miss the stehekin bakery!!
