Day 90 – 7/21/13 – 23 mi (1581.7)

The Winds! No, not a strong breeze, the Wind River Range. We climbed up into the mountains today and they are absolutely beautiful, the best yet of this trail. Actually, we aren’t technically on the CDT again. We took a popular alternate to go through the Cirque of the Towers. We passed several very nice lakes, with steep walls rising dramatically beside them. Stryder even went swimming in one.

We pushed pretty hard late in the day to reach a lake at the base of the Cirque of the Towers where we are camped. It was a tiring day but we are all very excited to be in such an amazing place.
