Would you like an Apple?

Day 30 – 5/22/13 – 15.4 mi (558.2)

The walk into Ghost Ranch seemed to take forever. It was hot and boring. While on a dirt road paralleling the Rio Chama, a rafting trip van passed us and stopped to chat for a moment. One of the passengers offered up an apple, which we eagerly accepted. Then we took a photo of us sharing it. This was a great way to kill 5 minutes.

The scenery at Ghost Ranch is beautiful. While at the front desk checking in, our friend Beacon appeared! He’s been hiking on and off this year due to injuries and was on his way out after a few days here. He had already reserved a room for the night, and generously offered it up. Ninja and Wired ended up taking the room and the rest of us got a campsite (first night is free for hikers).

Next was package retrieval. Imagine my surprise when there was an unexpected box for me! Mommy sent me cookies!!! Thanks, Mom!!

We sat around all afternoon eating, and then went to the AYCE dinner at the cafeteria. The food wasn’t great, but we all ate too much anyway. Tomorrow we plan to take a zero day, hooray!

The Daily Ninjup Report
I forgot to ask, and Ninja is far from the wifi at Ghost Ranch right now. I’ll have to do a double update tomorrow.
