Pie Town Zero

Day 18 – 5/10/13 – 0 mi (314.9)

Ah, the glorious zero day. The four girls and Strider (he’s firmly refusing to accept the name R. Dirty) got up early to do laundry, then picked up Nita and went to breakfast/lunch at the Good Pie cafe. Afterwards, Nita took us on a tour of Pie Town, which included a visit to a big satellite dish that appeared in the movie ‘Contact’. I’ve never seen the movie, but the dish on moving tracks was pretty huge and impressive.

Eager to get on her way, Wired hiked out early in the afternoon. About half an hour after she left, we discovered she’d forgotten her wallet. So we hopped in Nita’s truck and, after a stop at the Pie-o-Neer cafe, tracked down Wired, returned her wallet, and fed her a slice of pie.

It was rainy and cold all day so it was an especially nice day to be inside, enjoying pie and filling the Toaster house with laughter. Thanks, Nita!

I have been reading hiking blogs for awhile now and I have to say; You and that PCT 2011 Group are quite likeable! On top of being entertaining and educational( from equipment to trail life) it has added a new dimension to the trail story having all of the 2011 group on trail and blogging. On a personal note. Love the hairstyles. Love the trailname. Love DigiBling. Keep living the dream! Good luck!
