Ashland

Day 108 – 8/13/11 – 18 miles (1727)

Unbeknownst to me until 6am, Roadrunner packed up at 2am and night hiked to Ashland, where he got a series of rides to a rental car agency. When Ninja and I arrived at the highway around noon, he was waiting in a rental car with Subway sandwiches!
We were planning on taking a zero in Ashland tomorrow, and to make it as true a zero as possible, we wanted to get as much of our town chores done today as we could. And many chores we had.
Most of the PCT in Oregon does not pass near towns to resupply along the way like we’ve been doing. Instead, it’s best to mail yourself food to various resorts near the trail. This means we bought 2 weeks worth of food today and sorted it into 3 mail drops plus what we’re carrying out of Ashland. But being Saturday, we are stuck waiting until Monday to actually do the mailing.
