Beaver Fever

Day 49 – 6/10/13 – 12.2 mi (844.0)

After a morning with some steep climbs and strong winds, the rest of the day was a relaxing walk down a valley. I’ve never seen so many beaver dams in my life. For miles and miles the stream was terraced with beaver ponds. Stumps from chomped off aspen trees lined the trail.

In the early afternoon, LoveNote, Stryder and I passed a trailhead where 3 section hikers were returning to their vehicle. LoveNote performed some first class yogi-ing and scored us each a beer!

Climbing out of the valley, we are now following some forest service roads. We are now in transition between the San Juan and the Collegiate mountain ranges.
